OnePlus One features 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 with 3GB of RAM

Earlier, In the beginning of March, OnePlus officially announced that the handset would use the 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800. But Oppo's former VP Peter Lau has announced that a faster and latest 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 will be used in the handset instead of 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 clocked at 578MHz, is the fastest SoC currently on the market. The higher CPU clock brings better overall speed. This will improve all over performance and gaming experience.
Lau on the official forum post said, "As some of you have already noticed, we have made the decision to make a change to the system on chip that we're using in the OnePlus One. It is our philosophy to constantly look to improve on everything we do. Once again we want to live up to that philosophy and prove ourselves to you. We will Never Settle and we hope that you won't either."
OnePlus announced its partnership with CyanogenMod to launch the One smartphone in select markets back in January, saying that the companies would eventually expand the device's availability in more markets. After the partnership we're sure that the one device won't be running stock Android with custom UI, but rather the device will use the popular CyanogenMod ROM, which is expected to be free of all the bloatware other companies load in their devices.
Peter Lau also added, "So far, we have also been quiet about the amount of RAM that the OnePlus One will have. I have been working very closely with our engineers here to determine the best way to absolutely maximize performance. After carefully considering each option, today I can tell you that the OnePlus One will come with 3GB of RAM. This way no matter how memory hungry your games and apps may be, you will never have to worry about delay due to a lack of available RAM".
OnePlus's reasonable price tag is actually pretty exceptional considering features it supports are likely much more expensive than giants like Samsung and LG. OnePlus One will be priced below $500 USD unlocked and off-contract guaranteed,” Pete Lau said on Google+. The company plans to sell the device for as little as $400 in North America and under 350 euros in Europe.
OnePlus will be unveiling the much-anticipated One smartphone on 23 April 2014. Untill then, OnePlus is continuing to build up expectations for what may end up to be one of the most popular Android handsets of the year, at least for the CyanogenMod lovers.
