Okay, Now that we are done with the risk c*ap, we can move on to the next step.

Please read this entire post thoroughly and make sure not to skip any steps and you should be able to complete the tutorial easily without bricking your phone. Before updating your phone with this custom ROM you must read following guidelines before starting the installation process:

  • Do not try to flash the files that you find in this post on any phone other than Galaxy S3 I9300 International Version (Confirm model number on your phone: Settings>>More>>About)
  • Your phone has to be rooted and running the latest build of either CWM or TWRP Recovery. We will do it with CWM Recovery.
  • Note that in case your device doesn't have the latest custom Recovery version installed on it, then you cannot flash any new KitKat custom ROMs.
  • The tutorial will tell you to Factory Reset the phone and create a NANDROID Backup for the installed OS before applying Factory Reset. Do NoT skip those steps.
  • NANDROID ROM Backup sets a restore point for your phone, one that can be used in case your device doesn't boot in normal mode.
  • Factory Reset allows you to apply a clean installation of AOSB Android 4.4.2 for your Galaxy S3.
  • Factory Reset wipes data from system partition, while it leaves the internal and external storage unaffected.
  • Save data from installed apps, SMS and other similar files using the Helium tool for Android.
  • Sync Contacts info with your Gmail account.
  • Check the battery charge level of your device and make sure that it is over 50%, so that your phone will not switch off in the middle of the installation.
  • This guide is for advanced users, do not blame us nor the developers in case you brick the phone.


Flash AOSB Android 4.4.2 Project ROM for Galaxy S3 I9300, Once again, Use this tutorial only with the Samsung Galaxy S3 model number I9300 with Exynos CPU model.

  1. Download the ROM zip file from here.
  2. Download Gapps for this ROM from here.
  3. Connect your phone to your PC and then move both zip files to your phone’s internal storage. Do not unzip the contents of the archives and disconnect the phone from PC when the transfer is complete.
  4. Power off your phone, then boot it in CWM / TWRP Recovery Mode (power off device then hold the volume up, home button and power button simultaneously)
  5. Create a NANDROID Backup for the installed ROM.
  6. Select ‘backup and restore’, then name the file and confirm.
  7. Select ‘wipe data/ factory reset’, confirm.
  8. After Factory Reset is applied you should find the ‘Format /system’ option and apply it, too.
  9. Install the AOSB Android 4.4.2 ROM for your Galaxy S3 I9300:
  10. Now select ‘install zip from sdcard’, then ‘choose zip from sdcard’. Find the "aosb_kk_1.3.2_i9300.zip" file and confirm its installation.
  11. Install Gapps zip after the new ROM is flashed using the same actions as above step.
  12. Return to the main custom Recovery screen when done installing all files.
  13. Reboot your phone by selecting the option.
  14. Note that the AOSB Android 4.4.2 custom ROM first boot will take several minutes to complete, which is why you shouldn't press any buttons until it is complete.

After AOSB Android 4.4.2 ROM is flashed on your Galaxy S3 and it boots in normal mode. In case your phone goes into bootloop or gets stuck at boot screen then remove battery to power off device then go into recovery mod and apply format / system as explained in above steps.

Now that your phone is running AOSB KitKat 4.4.2 Rom, you can use your Google Account info in order to restore your settings, data, and other things you have backed up.
